As a leading commercial law firm in Saudi Arabia since 2013, we are committed to leveraging technological innovation while maintaining the highest standards of legal ethics, client confidentiality, and professional responsibility.
This policy applies to all attorneys, paralegals, support staff, contractors, and any other personnel engaged by the Firm who utilize AI tools in the course of their professional duties.
2. GUIDING PRINCIPLES
Our AI usage is guided by the following core principles:

- Confidentiality: Strict protection of client privileged information and trade secrets

3. PERMITTED AI APPLICATIONS
The Firm may utilize AI technologies for the following purposes:

3.2 Administrative Efficiency
- Document management and organization
- Scheduling and calendar optimization
- Billing and time-tracking automation
- Translation services for non-Arabic documents
3.3 Client Communication
- Drafting initial correspondence templates
- Meeting transcription and summarization
- Client intake form processing
4. PROHIBITED USES
The following AI applications are strictly prohibited:
- Unauthorized Disclosure: Inputting confidential client information, privileged communications, or trade secrets into public AI tools without proper data protection agreements
- Final Legal Advice: Relying solely on AI-generated content for final legal opinions, advice, or court submissions without attorney review
- Falsification: Using AI to generate false evidence, misrepresent facts, or create deceptive materials
- Unauthorized Practice: Delegating substantive legal work to AI without appropriate attorney supervision
- Bias Perpetuation: Using AI tools known to produce discriminatory or biased outputs in legal contexts
5. DATA PROTECTION AND CONFIDENTIALITY
5.1 Client Information
- No client-identifying information may be entered into public-facing AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) without explicit client consent and Firm approval
- Only Firm-approved, secure AI solutions with appropriate data processing agreements may handle confidential materials
- All AI vendors must comply with Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL)
5.2 Data Retention
- AI-generated outputs containing client information must be stored according to the Firm's document retention policies
- Personnel must verify that AI providers do not retain or train models on Firm-submitted data
6. QUALITY ASSURANCE AND HUMAN OVERSIGHT
6.1 Verification Requirements
- All AI-generated legal content must be verified by a qualified attorney for accuracy, relevance, and applicability to Saudi law
- AI-assisted research must be cross-referenced with primary legal sources
- Citations and references generated by AI must be independently confirmed
6.2 Supervision
- Partners and senior associates bear ultimate responsibility for work product incorporating AI assistance
- Junior attorneys and staff must disclose AI usage to supervising attorneys
- The Firm maintains an AI usage log for quality control purposes
7. CLIENT DISCLOSURE
7.1 Transparency
- Clients will be informed when AI tools materially contribute to their legal services
- Specific AI applications used in client matters will be disclosed upon request
- Client consent will be obtained before using AI for substantive legal analysis of their matters
7.2 Billing
- AI-enhanced efficiency benefits are passed to clients through competitive pricing
- No additional fees are charged for AI tool usage without prior client agreement
8. TRAINING AND COMPLIANCE
8.1 Education
- All personnel receive training on this policy upon onboarding and annually thereafter
- Specialized training is provided for approved AI tools
- Updates to this policy are communicated promptly to all staff
8.2 Violations
- Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination
- Serious breaches involving client confidentiality may trigger mandatory reporting to the Saudi Bar Association
9. VENDOR MANAGEMENT
- All AI vendors must undergo security and compliance assessment before approval
- Contracts with AI providers must include data protection, confidentiality, and audit rights provisions
- The Firm maintains a current list of approved AI tools and vendors
10. POLICY REVIEW
This policy is reviewed quarterly to ensure alignment with:
- Evolving Saudi legal and regulatory frameworks
- Technological advancements in legal AI
- International best practices for law firm AI governance
- Client expectations and industry standards
